Laboratory determination of geomechanical properties of the Ashalchi oilfield’s caprocks

The results of laboratory measurements of the geomechanical properties of Ashalchi oilfield are presented. Overall trends of caprock properties change with depth are determined. The correlations between compression strength, tensile strength and rock density and carbonate content are presented. The results of determination of the breakthrough pressure on caprock core samples are shown.
