Fracture height growth analysis in terrigenous Devonian reservoirs of southeast Tatarstan

Analysis of hydraulic fracture height growth using fracture mechanics equations is presented. Experimental values of fracture toughness of the terrigenous Devonian rocks have been used in calculations. It has been shown that stable fracture growth takes place in the given geological environment. The obtained results have been compared with the results of the Mayer program. The paper presents recommendations on application of linear water gels in case of thin barriers, maps of fracture height when planning large-scale fracture treatments, as well as adjustment of selection criteria for well candidates.
