New method enables weld zones corrosion protection applied to oilfield pipes with inner polymer coating

This paper summarizes the most widely used practices of weld joint protection applicable to oilfield pipes with inner polymer coating. The standard and modified weld joint configurations, developed in Tatneft JSC, are described. The results of investigations on corrosion resistance characteristics of an experimental pipeline test joints of modified configuration are given.
