The relevance of the policy of import substitution in Russia by the example of the strategy Marine seismic surveys equipment

The article discusses the relevance of import substitution strategy, aimed at achievement of technology independence for the Russian oil and gas industry in terms of marine seismic equipment. Based on development prospects of offshore projects, analysis of the demand and supply of marine seismic equipment, the authors evaluate the significance of the import substitution strategy for Russian oil and gas industry and prove its relevance. Considerable attention is paid to examination of this issue in the context of timely fulfillment of license obligations by major operators of Russian offshore projects, development scenarios of the national supplier base and activities for implementation of the import substitution strategy with account to necessary state support measures.
