Refinement of a fault-block model of Malousanov accumulation in J1, Urnenskoye field, by applying the Ant Tracking algorithm

DOI:
Possibilities and results of applying the method of automated recognition of faults are reviewed by the example of refining a fault-block model of Malousanov accumulation. Reasons of difference between OWC level of Malousanov accumulation under study and OWC of adjacent accumulations are examined. Methods and risks of predicting reservoirs in Tyumen suite, Em-Yogovskoye field

DOI:
Based on 3D seismic acquired in the south-east of Em-Yogovskoye field, a dynamic analysis and seismic inversion to determine high-capacious Tyumen reservoirs and most promising areas for development drilling are made. Risk of reservoir lack and its quality in Tyumen suite is assessed with producing the total risk map. Method of dividing the reservoirs into classes is applied using FZI. Genetic inversion algorithm based on neural nets, and also geoseismic modeling are used to propagate FZI over the volume of seismic cube.

Picking of sweetspots in Tagul field based on analyzing productive layers sedimentary environments by a suite of seismic and geologic methods, with account for geologic information quality

DOI:
Study case of Tagul field gives grounds for the recognition of zones based on sedimentological criteria of input data quality, fluid saturation character, reservoirs compartmentalization, fluid contacts level. Need for differentiated approach to certain parts of the field characterized by complex geologic architecture, when picking new well locations, planning a suite of additional appraisal programs for the field, selecting optimal field development methods, and defining stages of bringing the field into development is demonstrated. Three zones are picked in Tagul field. Their productive potential is characterized.

Use of modern methods to make a detailed study of Suzunskoye field geologic structure

DOI:
It is shown that over the recent years there have been studies conducted in Suzunskoye, which integration allowed generating of the facies model of Nh1 bearing 86% of the field’s recoverable oil reserves. Detailed sedimentological interpretation of available core with attracting ichnofacies analysis, well data correlation with accounting for sequence stratigraphy principles, and their integration with attribute analysis and 3D seismic acoustic inversion interpretation results are made.

Issues of studying oil pools in Tyumen suite, Krasnoleninskoye field

DOI:
Possible ways of picking highly-productive oil accumulations in Tyumen suite interval of Krasnoleninskoye field are considered. It is indicated that despite the field’s high maturity level of exploration and development, areal and detailed seismic surveys, the prediction of picking highly-productive oil accumulations in Tyumen suite interval is of low efficiency. Results of attempts to prognosticate reservoir development zones with high poroperm in Tyumen suite interval, using data of seismic facies analysis conducted by specialists from different organizations at separate areas of Krasnoleninskoye field, are presented. Necessity for designing, implementing the targeted program to solve this problem is exhibited.

Refinement of field’s physical-geological model by seismic data acoustic inversion transformations

DOI:

It is marked that quality and reliability of physical-geologic models directly depend on quantity of information available. It is shown that larger portion of such information can be obtained when solving inverse problems of seismic exploration, where a special position is held by inversion transformations allowing interference effects to be reduced, structural mapping to be updated, distribution of properties between wells to be predicted. Example of attracting acoustic inversion transformations to identify a new target for study is presented. Parameters distribution prediction maps are constructed.

Paleogeography of Tyumen suite, south-west of Em-Yogovsky license

DOI:
Paleogeographic analysis of Tyumen suite reservoirs is made within the limits of 3D seismic activities in Em-Yoga area to search for relationships between Jurassic interval’s petrophysical properties and seismic data. Paleogeographic sketch-maps of Middle Jurassic reservoirs are constructed on the basis of integrated analysis of core, logs, seismic and regional studies.     Stable relations are derived on certain facies zones of net thicknesses with the seismic attribute.

Building of the petrophysical model using cluster analysis when rock-typing by well log data

DOI:
It is shown that the use of standard core – core dependency to predict permeability by well log data has no high reliability. Option (method) of reservoir-typing with applying core and logs study data to improve permeability prediction is examined. Main features of constructing petrophysical model with using cluster analysis when rock-typing are presented. Comparisons of production characteristics poroperm properties derived by using various techniques are presented.

Study case of the geologic architecture of Verkhnechonskoye field based on 3D seismic data

DOI:
First results of geologic architecture of Verkhnechon field (Siberian Platform) by modern 3D seismic data are presented. It is established that narrow grabens, crosscutting sediments, regional and local components changing Vendian terrigenous complex thickness are reliably mapped by seismic. The results of Vendian terrigenous complex facies analysis are examined. Correlations between seismic attributes, impedance and linear content of VC1 are scrutinized. Scheme of VC1 reservoir linear capacity enabling the recognition of risk zones for locating development wells is provided.

Exploration of single reefs – as the backup to maintain oil production in the Kama-Kinel downwarp system

DOI:
It is marked that Upper Devonian 150-200 m high single reefs are mapped by 3D seismic along the southern edge of the Mukhanovo-Erokhov trough. It is shown that smaller areas of reef pinnacles and significant depths of their occurrence do not allow locating of the structures by 2D seismic. Drilling exploratory wells identifies that commercial oil-fields are confined to single reefs. Assumption is made that by the analogy with well-known world’s basins the Upper Devonian reef pinnacles in the Kama-Kinel downwarp system can control major oil accumulation zones, exploration of which will provide the backup for oil production reserve base replacement.

Use of borehole seismic results at the stage of oil fields planning

DOI:
To maintain high rates of oil industry development and to attain sustained production, new oil fields have to be discovered with the reserves sufficient not only to provide for the planned production increment, but also to make up for production decline in the producing fields. So far as new discoveries are tapped by just one or two wells, areal limits of deposits have to be defined with maximum possible accuracy. To raise the accuracy of well spudding points, Tatneft Company uses detailed survey methods, in that number, broadside vertical seismic profiling (BVSP). Carrying out of the suggested program, taking into account the updated geologic model, prevents drilling of dry holes and allows attaining the project recovery factor.
