Influence of mechanochemical effects on elastic and strength properties of reservoir rocks

Authors: S.N. Popov (Oil and Gas Research Institute of RAS, RF, Moscow)
Key words: mechanochemical effects, Rebinder effect, tensile strength, compressive strength, elastic properties, effective stresses.
The paper presents an overview and analysis of scientific studies on the influence of mechanical effects (including Rebinder effect) on mechanical properties of reservoir rocks. Some basic experimental and theoretical results of these studies are presented. Significant degree of influence of mechanochemical effects on elastic and strength properties of reservoir are showed.
