In the year 2005 "Oil industry" magazine celebrated its 85th anniversary. To mark such a significant date, we prepared a special anniversary issue, on the pages of which we published congratulations from the Federal Agency of Energy of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, Council of Federation for Natural Monopolies, the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation, from all founders of the magazine, the majority of our partners, authors and advertisers. Also, a scientific and practical conference, titled "Stages of formation and development of oil industry of the country on the pages of "Oil Industry" magazine” within the framework of celebrating our 85th anniversary of the magazine was held on October 11th, 2005, in which representatives of more than 87 industrial, scientific and public organizations of the oil and gas industry took part. The opening of the conference was carried out by deputy head of the Federal Agency of Energy of the Russian Federation - O.G.Gordeyev and one of the oldest oilmen of the country and Chairman of the State plan of the USSR - N.K.Baybakov. General sponsors of this celebration were companies Hewlett Packard, Schlumberger and AMD. A great number of large Russian companies have also rendered financial support in the organization of the event.
