Key words: sandstone reservoirs, displacement factor, optimum flooding rate, permeability, oil viscosity.

The experimental research results are analyzed for determining optimum fluid flow velocities in the pore volume of the Upper Devonian Pashiyskiy sandstones on the oil fields of Bashkortostan. Conclusions are drawn as to how the permeability of the porous media and the viscosity of the displaced oil affect the optimum rate of flooding.
