The paper reviews the results of a pilot project which was designed to test a bottomhole treatment technique on wells with carbonate target reservoirs. The technique involves injecting large volumes of hydrochloric acid (specific volume over 2 m3 for 1 m of the treated interval) through coiled tubing. Coiled tubing makes the acid treatment possible without any lifting or tripping-out of the down-hole pumping equipment.
