It is shown that use of  two technologies - thermal-steam treatment and in-situ combustion at Mordovo-Karmalskoye heavy oil field allows to produce two types of oil: heavy oil of B2 type, without wax, do not differ practically from the original type, and a lighter oil of A2 type, partially diluted by the thermal cracking products. The composition of extracted oil taking into account the applied technologies changes insignificantly during the long development of the field. Gathering oil from the given field remains the nature of the mother oil, but it is less viscous and therefore more transportable.

Key words: heavy oil, bitumen, composition, properties, development, thermal methods of oil recovery
